The spa itself utilizes the power of the sun and earth to heat the Sauna, Steam room and Mineral Pool using both Solar and Geo Thermal Energy.
In the winter, electricity that we attain from solar energy is used to extract heat from below the earth’s surface to heat the building. In the summer, the heat is transferred from inside the building back into the ground and the cool air is cycled back into the building.
This works because ground temperatures remain a constant 55 degrees 10 feet below the Earth’s surface and heat travels much more efficiently through the ground then through the air. Our 14 wells are 175 feet below the ground.
The floors are also radiantly heated and solar power will take care of most of the additional energy needed to operate the building, including energy efficient windows.
